Dimitri Volgt Alexopolous is a main antagonist in Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain. Though doing no significant thing to actually exacerbate the protagonists, it is his future actions that put him on the Agency's DPE order.

PlotEdit

Syphon Filter: The Omega StrainEdit

He is seen in the Italy mission, in which he and his Cosa Nostra thugs attempt to use bio-weapons for family business; however, Logan disapproves of this, and sends the hardened veteran Gary Stoneman to neutralise Dimitri.

After dealing with a few mafia henchmen, and planting a diversionary explosive, Stone sneaks to the sniping position and overhears Dimitri talking to a guard about the ceremony (which was 'beautiful'); they then change topics and converse about business with the Russians. The patrol replies that 'everything went well', although there were 'some complications with the package', adding that 'some workers got sick'. Dimitri tells him that he was never told about the complications, and invites the guard to his villa, in order to talk further about it. He never made it back to his villa, of course, because Stone shot him at 3.00 PM, using the tone of the bell to silence his shot.

Description Edit

The head of Cosa Potenza, a crime family in Cosa Nostra (Italian Mafia), Alexopoulous controlled a primary source of drug-running and extortion in the Mediterranean region. His organisation often engaged in conflicts with competing families for territory and operations, leading to the murder of his brother, Alberto Alexopoulous. The effect caused Dimitri, now over-cautious and paranoid about appearing in public, to become reclusive and hide in a villa which was presumably at a maximum security level while running his operations.

Alexopolous arranged to purchase the Omega Strain virus from Chechen rebels, but the shipment resulted in a leak and outbreak when mill employees fell sick. When Agency intelligence investigated, Gabe Logan dispatched Gary Stoneman with a task of stopping Alexopoulous after learning of his intentions to buy the virus and infect opposing crime families.

Stoneman orchestrated the plot on a rare moment when Alexopoulous was in public. He set a diversionary explosive and shot the target in conjunction with a ringing clock tower to mask his unsilenced sniper rifle. Alexopoulous perished, and the now leaderless Cosa Potenza had to select a new boss of their family.
