Ellis was a agent recruited by Benton to the agency,he belonged to Gabriel Logan convoy in Kabul in Afghanistan, after that him worked for the agency until his death in Costa Rica.

Ellis just appears in the introduction, he was acting in an undercover agent in Rhoemer plantation in Costa Rica, but he was discovered and Rhoemer ordered Mara Aramov execute him, she killed him and Logan and Lian heard the shot and found Ellis dead.

Him appears in the second mission in Costa Rica ,he just appears in him death scene and him appears in the mission eleven in Kabul Afghanista as the partner of Logan.
