Malcolm Freeman is a minor character in Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror. He was a National Security Agency operative who acted as the foreman in KemSynth Petroleum, a facility along the Alaskan pipeline which came under Red Section attack.
Most data on Malcolm Freeman is restricted to NSA servers and kept classified under their rules and regulation procedures. Agency intel on him confirms he was reporting to Washington while serving as foreman to the government-affiliated KemSynth Petroleum corporation in Alaska. Freeman cooperated with Dr. William Kreisler on Project Dark Mirror, the development of nerve gas via Peruvian plants. Red Section's attack on the oil refinery was to recover this project and Freeman was among the primary targets for his information, some of which he kept hidden in his office. When Red Section assaulted KemSynth, the mercenary commander Black King captured him, but died in a confrontation with Precision Strike operative Gabe Logan who was attempting to save Freeman. The NSA agent decided to sacrifice himself rather than explain the research he had protected.
