You are now an admin on the site for all your contributions. So you are granted the rights to edit pages locked from the general public. I just need to do this to ferret out vandals and stop high-value articles from being hijacked.
I see there are quite a few weapons not seen in the main game but in locked files you can view them. Both Dark Mirror and Logan Shadow has these such weapons. Should we add them and say "these were seen during the development but later scrapped"?
Hm, even don't know. If we do, the pictures of them will be awful due to video screenshot. Who knows, maybe these weapons can be unlocked via cheats? I just found nice site with cheats for DM, LS and CO: http://www.codinghs.com/forums/forumdisplay.php/21-Syphon-Filter-Series but this requires a lot more digging to figure it out. Now I'm kinda tired since I did a lot of work with all these weapons screens, so I prefer to do "cheats research" in some future.
Is possible to port things between the three SF for the PS1? I saw a video of MaxiFX called squad "OMEGA" that play SF1 with other characters. Is possible to make the same with game mechanics and weapons?
If you a programmer and know reverse-enginering - you can do pretty much everything with these games, if you know how and really want it. But I'm not a programmer or else would have done something already, like MaxiFX did. Sure I know little about hacking, but porting things is far beyond my possibilities.
If I recall, this container was given to Stone from Zohar in cutscene? There's no any files of this container, even in game itself, in Yemen 2 no such objective beside Omega Cure section. Well, I guess there's no way to get the description of it, it just don't exist in the game.
You mean add legend to the green Chateau map? I'm not sure right now, maybe, but it will take time. If you mean overview 3D map like the rest - no, I tried levitation but fog in this level hide all map.
For obtaining the menu pictures of Maks and Bizon I just replaced Sillenced 9mm menu picture and description, got proper ammo count via ArtMoney and snap the picture. But for using them in game you can use GameShark "All Weapons" and "Infinite ammo" codes. You still can't access Maks via menu.
Oh, ok... A last thing, is actually possible to select the hidden hand taser in SF3 like for BIZ-2 and MAKS in the same way of these two weapons? But the hand taser haven't a model and maybe haven't also a description. How about the non-silenced Sniper Rifle? In SF2 you can select it in the weapons menu normally and the description is the same as the SIlenced Sniper Rifle, but miss the word "silenced" of course
If I recall correctly in New York Slums, but I'm almost sure that isn't it. However you can access it enabling the code "All Weapons and Items". Is situated in the bottom, before the Nightvision Rifle if I remember right
EDIT: Also in SF3 is the same thing. There is a hidden non-silenced Sniper Rifle, but this time you can't access it. You must use the same method as the Biz-2 and MAKS
Don't know, I checked Slums and didn't found non-silenced sniper rifle. All operatives were with silenced sniper rifle. I din't found non-silenced version in other levels either. I know it can be accessed by cheats, but I need to know if there's a legit way to obtain it in SF2.
That the reason? You want people who come to SF Wiki via smartphones don't scroll table left or right? Then, what to do with weapon renders that I uploaded earlier? Just left them be? Or maybe we can use Example 5a/b to include both, renders and screen caps? Or add these renders to separate weapons pages?
Even with a smartphone or mobile device, the page will automatically switch to the IMFDB format. So people can read the text, THEN see the picture. They don't need to manipulate tables. Which rather frustrates readers.
Checked Test Page via mobile. Agreed, Example 4 most reasonable and comfortable for both, PC and mobile users. But if consider only PC users - I prefer pictures beside text, looks a lot more compact and accurate, but then mobile version would be look like shit. Oh... well.
So what to do with renders then? I offer to use them on separate weapon pages instead.
that's what i mean. At no. 4 u can read game description. And also see the pic. But i'm sorry, 5 is SHIT. I can't read crap, I'm not sure why you have a pic to the left when there's already an image of the gun in game description
Not everything at once, besides the wiki, I have other activities. Everything has its time, anyway, we have not yet decided on the final formatting of articles. Now I can just add all cropped weapons pictures from SF3 site.
Sure, we need to add "Items" section for objects like key cards to all SF Weapons pages. I can play only Dark Mirror online on one PC via PPSSPP, but LS online don't work that way, so it won't available for me to play it, and for now I can't tell for sure what weapons and objects LS-online have, need to go through game files later. For now, I just found this: https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/psp/939487-syphon-filter-logans-shadow/faqs/50447 maybe this will help to specify all online weapons. For previous SFs: I have a lot of TOS pictures, will start adding them later. Most of the weapons in original trilogy almost the same, so I can add all trilogy pictures and then sort them to pages.
Fantastic, FoxHand. For Dark Mirror, see the "Weapon FAQ" by the user "Sal_89", there is for real every thing about weapons from Dark Mirror, including all online weapons (maybe there are more), objects (including online) and gadgets.
So... Isn't only a my problem the online of Logan's Shaodow on PPSSPP... Crashes the emulator also for you? Anyway, I'm almost sure that the weapons present on the online are the same as Combat Ops, maybe with the addition of the infamous flamethroewer. I played only a little bit the Logan's Shadow online, so I can't tell anything.
This is the FAQ that I've talked about: Weapon FAQ
Yeah, my PPSSPP crashes when trying to go LS online. Some weapons in SF3 has different look from SF3 manual - like PK-102 and Knife. Also in DM official K-bar picture captured from official site looks different form in-game model. Don't know what to do with these yet.
I don't remember, but SF2 weapons are all equal to the SF2 manual?
In SF3 I remember that the 12 gauge shotgun in the weapons menu uses the combat shotgun image from SF1. In SF2 is so?
Anyway I can help with online objects of LS, I have two PSPs that I can play in AD Hoc.
And the last thing, the Combat Ops page is the easiest PSP SF to find weapons, is only online as you know. And aren't so many and maybe the additions are avaible in LS online, I saw the BB Mine and M79 for example.
Yes, I will do this. Actually is a Combat Ops without some weapons. I playied a lot of time ago and I saw many exclusive weapons. I start the research now. For now I will search for weapons, later for objects. And for gadgets maybe googles this time
FoxHand, actually these are all of the weapons that I could find. A lot from the Dark Mirror online are removed. I've included also the M16K, SMAW and Dragunov, also if appears in singleplayer, but also as NPC weapons, apart the Dragunov:
I was able to play Logan's Shadow online and Combat Ops: Sneak Preview via JPCSP on one PC!
I think this info will be interesting to you. Doing LS-online weapons research will be more comfortable via JPCSP than via two real PSPs. And plus - I can catch nice pictures to exclusive LS-online weapons if needed.
Also, maybe Combat Ops: Sneak Preview has something interesting and exclusive in it.
The sneak preview of Combat Ops that you talk is the one present in Logan's Shadow, right? Honestly I haven't seen differences between the sneak and the release... Seems that both have the same weapons.
