The Search for the Data Discs was a major conflict of Syphon Filter 2, involving The Agency and the CBDC.

Events

Prelude

Following the takedown of Erich Rhoemer and Black Baton, Gabe Logan and Lian Xing were now considered enemies of the state after connecting the Agency with Syphon Filter. While transporting Jonathan Phagan's files from the PHARCOM warehouses onto the CBDC's transport jet, Gabe is assaulted by waves of Spooks attempting to capture Lian Xing for further research. He rushes to his partner and kills numerous enemy soldiers but is too late. With Lian caught by Morgan and Stevens, it is soon necessary for the former to orchestrate an escape from MacKenzie Air Force Base.

Meanwhile, the SVR led by Uri Gregorav shows up at the PHARCOM warehouses. The files loaded, Gabe and his crew fly to Arizona to rendezvous with Teresa Lipan, but are intercepted by a pair of F-22 Raptors sent by the Agency to stop them. The team is forced to parachute into the Rocky Mountains despite the fact their data discs are still on the plane. The CDBC is soon scattered along the mountain range and Gabe hurries to find the transponder locator from Lieutenant Jason Chance before the Agency sends backup.
