We can replace weapon images to better ones, I have a collection of weapon pictures from TOS, DM and LS, like this one:
You mean the ones that used in the page? Anyway, you can use the your images only if you have all weapons, for a more accurated work
Dane Bishop 09:29, May 1, 2019 (UTC)
I'll add them gradually. Not sure if I have all weapon images, but a lot of them (63 for DM, and a lot more for TOS). I copied them for official SF sites back in 2010 and hell I'm glad I did it, now they will come in handy. If there's absent some of weapons - this is not a big deal to catch up missing ones from the game and photoshop them, like I did for all characters pictures.
By the way, we can add all in-game items as well (like Virus Antigen, Virus Scanner, Flashlight, Flak jacket and others), it will take some time to make pictures for all of them, but then the collection will be more completed with not only weapons. Below is Flak Jacket picture that I cut from SF3 site in 2010, not very accurate cuted so I need to re-cut, but you get the idea.
Thanks, but can you provide a screenshot of, say, the flak jacket rather than something like what I see above? Like the screenshots you did of Zeus Files. So a screencap of the FJ from gameplay.
What's wrong with this Flak Jacket picture besides awful cropping :)? This picture was taken from Official SF3 site, besides Flack Jacket I have all other weapons and items, so I think those picture will be better than anything else:
Of course those pictures fits perfectly for SF3 and even partially for SF1/2.
Ia good thing to add exclusive online weapons like the DSC-1 or the G-17 to a own section? Is more accurate...
Dane Bishop 10:10, May 2, 2019 (UTC)
Yeah, collection must be fully completed as possible. I have DSC-1 and G-17 pictures. And all gadgets as well, so we need to add Gadget section on the page.
Nice, I will add also gadgets
The name "sawed-off" does not mean ANYTHING in itself. So the pistol referred to as this title should be called something like "sawed-off shotgun". This is a professionalism problem and if we simply state "this is a sawed-off" without providing a weapons category it would reflect badly on the site for people who prefer to come here rather than go to IMFDB to identify weapons Spirit Slasher (talk) 22:59, May 2, 2019 (UTC)
Excuse me, please, read the flamethrower paragraph before to write here. I WROTE HOW TO PICK UP the flamethrower. YOU CAN OBTAIN ONLY IN THE PSP VERSION. The image ISN'T photoshopped. I use always the, flamethrower here with the glitch that I've explained
Dane Bishop 10:45, May 4, 2019 (UTC)
Please, don't bullshit me, if you are envy because you are un-able to obtain the flamethrower and minigun, don't edit the page, please. You want a video proof? Are your sure to make the my passages correct? You play THE PSP VERSION OR NOT!?
I would ask you to respect the admin or otherwise leave. If words like "BS" are being used here i will need to take some action. The vita does NOT allow this weapon to be used. Also the chaingun is sometimes unavailable. If you want videos of this I can provide it. Spirit Slasher (talk) 11:44, May 4, 2019 (UTC)
It's true, I was able to pick up both M-134 Minigun and Flamethrower in PSP version (US version, PPSSPP, Mission Mode, Hard) by the way that Dane's described. But only "checkpoint" way, before death you can't obtain them. Sure, Dane's words was unacceptable, but he was right and prove it. I think those facts about those weapons can not be ignored, no matter if Vita version acts differently, PSP is original version after all, not Vita port. But If you really can't obtain those weapons in Vita version by "checkpoint" way, you can specify this in weapon's description as well.
IMPORTANT ADDITION: I've checked PS2 Dark Mirror version and "checkpoint glitch" didn't work, as for Minigun as for Flamethrower. So, I think this glitch is PSP US Version exclusive. Spirit Slasher, If you have Vita EU version, those glitches might be fixed as well. I guess Minigun and Flamethrower must be in special "Weapon Bugs" section, or something like that. FoxHand (talk) 16:08, May 4, 2019 (UTC)
FOxhand, can you PLEASE post a video of the flamethrower and how to acquire it as a weapon?FoxHand (talk) 16:37, May 4, 2019 (UTC)
Also the chaingun is sometimes un-obtainable.
To FoxHand, also the European PSP version can do this glitch. I discovered that glitch when I've played the EU PSP version. See the my Message Wall and you will see two videos. Both are European PSP version of the game.
To Spirit Slasher, I dunno why the flamethrower ammo is always zero when pick-upped. Anyway you can replenish at the ammo box at the end of the level.
Dane Bishop 07:59, May 5, 2019 (UTC)
I'm wondering if the flamethrower ONLY shows up if you enter cheat codes or on certain consoles. Here's a video of my version (https://youtu.be/73PLFl4fE6M). By the way I'm in Australia, so my DM is the European version, and I'm using a Vita.
Saw the video - you do it wrong, you must pick up checkpoint right next to the door where this flamethrower guy come out, then die, and after that - kill flamethrower guy.FoxHand (talk) 12:50, May 5, 2019 (UTC)
FoxHand have right. Follow his passages, is the only way to obtain that
Dane Bishop 13:00, May 5, 2019 (UTC)
Dane, "No more bold and headings apart heading 2." Okay, I'm good with "no bold", but 2 and 3 Heading needed to specify chapters more accurately and split Single from Online Weapons. You deleted all splitters ("----") between weapons and now page is kinda messy again, most weapons pictures very small and barely visible.
Why did you delete my edits completely and did not done more precisely edits that wouldn't delete all my previous efforts to make page cleaner and accurate? Also, Spirit Slasher wants to replace all current weapons pictures with screencaps. What do you think about that? FoxHand (talk) 22:15, May 6, 2019 (UTC)
Foxhand I think we should make this professional like IMFDB. Since they have screenshots it's only fair that we do the same use OS weapons as an example. Spirit Slasher (talk) 04:39, May 7, 2019 (UTC)
What so professional about IMFDB? Yeah, they good at knowing real weapons prototypes, and they write good descriptions, but pictures they posted is awful, just because they didn't have any alternatives - better pictures. But we have, we have good pictures from official site, some of them good cropped screenshots from emulators at very high configurations. Some of their screen caps:
http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/File:Syphon_filter_MP5K(1).jpg - are you kidding me? Screenshot from Youtube even without cropping YT bars?
http://www.imfdb.org/images/9/9b/SFOS-OICW.jpg - quality of this picture is low, and also with ruined proportions so picture is stretched. (must be 4:3)
Sorry, but I can't call this professionalism, at least their Syphon Filter related pictures. Yeah, they didn't have much choice, but they could at least make a better HQ screenshots, and not just YT screen caps.
Why should we stay with this: http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/File:SF_shotgun.jpg
if we have this? Because of in-game description on screenshot? We can just add it to the text, make a good formatting via template: this is good example - https://residentevil.fandom.com/wiki/Shotgun_(RE3) nice quote block for in-game weapon description.I do not insist, it's just my opinion. It's you to decide. If you needed a nice screen caps - I'll make them, It's far easier than crop a weapon and put it on transparent background) FoxHand (talk) 06:08, May 7, 2019 (UTC)May
To FoxHand, can be great that you can replace the other imgaes of weapons pages with your own. Can you make the same with gadgets as well?
Dane Bishop 11:22, May 7, 2019 (UTC)Dane, unfortunately I don't have good pictures for absolutely ALL weapons and gadgets from original trilogy, mostly from SF1, like Combat Shotgun, Sniper Rifle (SF1 version), Virus Antigen, Virus Scanner, Keycard and Flashlight. In SF1 manual pictures are too small and low quality, so picking up screen cap from game itself is our best option. FoxHand (talk) 12:06, May 7, 2019 (UTC)
Oh, ok. Then I must use an emulator to screenshot the screen and use photoshop, right? How to make a transparent background and cutting images? I'm not good at all with photoshop
Dane Bishop 12:38, May 7, 2019 (UTC)

First off, I KNOW their screencaps are horrid. The youtube ones are copy pasted STRAIGHT from the screen. THAT IS NOT WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT WHEN I SAY PROFESSIONAL. The Omega Strain page is an example of being truly professional, I'm asking whether we can have the pictures in weapons description, cut straight from the game.
"http://www.imfdb.org/images/9/9b/SFOS-OICW.jpg - quality of this picture is low, and also with ruined proportions so picture is stretched. (must be 4:3)"
Also, you talk about this like you know a LOT about it (NO OFFENSE AT ALL). If you REALLY do, then can you make the picture so it's not stretched?
"Sorry, but I can't call this professionalism, at least their Syphon Filter related pictures. Yeah, they didn't have much choice, but they could at least make a better HQ screenshots, and not just YT screen caps."
I agree with this, NOT EVERYTHING is professional, but they have PROPER editing. OUR site is FILLED with grammar errors, and spelling mistakes. All that things.
"Why should we stay with this: http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/File:SF_shotgun.jpg

I'm not sure what you mean when you mention the RS shotgun.
Also the problem I have is some pictures here are either too large or too small. And I think the IMFDB layout is more proper. They have a weapon description, THEN they show the pictures below. Compare that to ours where the pics are BESIDE the text!
In summary, can we have pictures like these?
I just feel that there is a SHITLOAD of errors that the wiki has compared to IMFDB. If you ever find a solution to the stretched problem like you say the OS weapons have experienced, post back here and let me know.
Also Foxhand you can probably use an emulator to grab screenshots. I'm pretty sure IMFDB used that program.
To Spirit Slasher:
"Also, you talk about this like you know a LOT about it"
Sure I do, on Youtube almost every SF 1-2-3 (or any other PS1 game with original 4:3 screen proportions) walkthrough is stretched because nobody cares about this aspect, even when ePSXe featured true widescreen option, almost no one used it. And yes, I can make proper pictures, here's example in EXTREMELY HUGE quality and right 4:3 proportions (5120x3840): https://fastpic.ru/view/109/2019/0507/_b804a8700ca5c19f56f4640f53f93a41.png.html
"OUR site is FILLED with grammar errors, and spelling mistakes."
Of course we do, we don't have many editors. I'm Russian, so I can't guarantee proper English grammar and spelling, that's why I almost don't touch texts in any articles.
"I'm not sure what you mean when you mention the RS shotgun."
I mean we could put In-game weapon descriptions into special template to separate from another text.
"Also the problem I have is some pictures here are either too large or too small."
In my last edit almost every picture fitted to the same size 100-150px https://syphonfilter.fandom.com/wiki/Weapons_of_Syphon_Filter:_Dark_Mirror?oldid=16281
Or I have another option - tables, here's example: https://syphonfilter.fandom.com/wiki/Weapons_of_Syphon_Filter:_Dark_Mirror Undone it when see it.
"Compare that to ours where the pics are BESIDE the text!"
Don't see anything awful in BESIDE picture, just need more accurate edit.
"In summary, can we have pictures like these?"
"If you ever find a solution to the stretched problem"
This not even a problem, this is some people incompetence or carelessness.
FOxhand can u also look at the discussion for Combat Ops weapons? I have a list of firearms that I found, but I cannot tell for sure whether there are more weapons. Comment on it if you have anything else you find.
"I'm pretty sure IMFDB used that program."
Spirit Slasher, actually BELOW pictures not that bad, just found a way how to fit them nicely:
To FoxHand, this is the my attempt to take images from the PS1 trilogy. Need more attention to cut the image, for sure. Anyway, is this usable?
Dane Bishop 18:52, May 7, 2019 (UTC)
Looks like my first attempts :D. But hey, for SF1 we need only these - Combat Shotgun, Sniper Rifle (SF1 version), Virus Antigen, Virus Scanner, Keycard and Flashlight. All other weapons look almost the same for all trilogy, so we can use them for all 3. FoxHand (talk) 21:55, May 7, 2019 (UTC)
@Foxhand and Dane is this not more professional? Spirit Slasher (talk) 23:25, May 7, 2019 (UTC)
Is quite good. The only thing that we need are this type of images, nothing of difficult.
Spirit Slasher, seem that you have removed the answer to FoxHand, why you tell me that I remove things from this discussion, page?
Dane Bishop 05:57, May 8, 2019 (UTC)
What the fuck are you talking about!? Removed the answer? You are NOT an admin, I am starting a discussion about what is best.
My advise to you is seriously respect people on the internet. ALL the things you are doing are considered block-able actions. I'm sorry but this needs URGENT attention.
