This is your local admin. While I appreciate the things you've done thus far, I'm not too sure if we need it at the moment. You should understand that, as mentioned earlier, I am the only active admin at least at this point and even though our founder sometimes appears, it may not be often that he is present.

Because of this, please refrain from changing anymore pages until further notice. I see that he has been undoing your edits for some reason and I'm not too certain about the reason for this...

If you wish to continue performing such edits, bring the matter to my attention and I will see how we can proceed from there.

    Thanks.

    • Hi, I'm the admin from the Spanish wiki. As far as I am concerned, Tomiduncan was just adding interlanguage links into the articles, which is something that a wiki requires and it's recommended by the staff of the platform.

      Greetings.

    • Hi Spirit Slasher. I suggest reviewing the editions better as I am not committing vandalism. I thought that with the explanation of my colleague things had become clear. What I'm doing is connecting the Spanish community of Syphon Filter with this wiki.

Please read this article where it is best explained what an interlingual link is: Help:Interlanguage link.

      Regards!

    • My reasons for reverting the contribution are based mostly on the fact that the links were either broken or the links were not helpful. While I do understand and appreciate the usefulness of multilingual sources, it is very easy to have a web page translated. If you can add more information to your Spanish links, I would be glad to allow them. Until then I respectfully request you refrain from posting them.

    • Upon further review I have also noticed that many of the Spanish wiki pages are simply plagiarized from this wiki. Please refer to the fandom community guidelines regarding plagiarized content.

    • I started editing in the community recently and I'm not very aware of the articles. For that kind of thing you have to contact the active administrator of the Syphon Filter Spanish wiki: YonedgeHp.

Could you tell us exactly which pages are the same as here? In this way, we can get involved in giving them their respective attribution.

Interlanguage links favor readers of articles, it's always good to be able to access an alternative version of the content being viewed.

    • I have been managing the wiki in Spanish for months, much of the articles were created by a user named MEGASPORTS. In addition, Syphon Filter Wiki content can be used anywhere for being part of FANDOM / Wikia under the CC-BY-SA license, which recommends attribution.

I don't understand why refuse to use the interlanguage links, these are used in all the wikis of the platform and not allow their use is not understandable.

    • I don't feel I need to explain myself, but I will. The reason I have not followed the fandom community suggestions is because you have not. Many of the articles on the Spanish wiki are simply plagiarized from here with no credit to the hard working people that have spent thousands of hours building this wiki. That is disrespectful.

The second reason is because the few articles you haven't plagiarized are non informative. Many of the weapons descriptions say something generic like "a weapon used in syphon filter. I feel people that are truly looking for solid information regarding this game, in Spanish, would be better off translating the webpage. Every web browser offers webpage translation.

I would have much rather had you ask for permission to translate our pages and use that for the Spanish wiki. Then I would have had no problem having a link to the Spanish articles. But you did not ask permission, did not attribute your articles to the hardworking moderators and admins of this page, therefore I ask you don't make any edits to this wiki.

    • Hello, Nibblex hax, we have put a custom Rail with JavaScript (that appears in any article) where we mentioned that the content of the spanish wiki is sharing content of this community under the license CC-BY-SA. There we solve the plagiarism of which you accuse us.

The other point is... if you do not allow us to add the interwikis, we will also remove the interlang links from the spanish community, since we do not have a reason to link the articles if you do not want to collaborate with us either.

      Thanks.

    • From the fandom community guidelines.

"Don't plagiarize content. If you are bringing content to FANDOM or taking it from here (or to another site), please remember to cite the authors properly. Don't assume that everything on the Internet is open for the taking. Make sure you have permission to use something before you copy it, and follow the rules for attribution when you do reuse. Everyone likes credit for their hard work!"

    • Any further attempts to "plead your case" will result in a ban. Either give credit to the moderators of this wiki, and improve your articles; or leave.

    • Nibble hax, any text you post in a FANDOM wiki under the CC-BY-SA license can be reused and even sold. So more than giving them the corresponding attributions we made, we can not. Read this carefully and if you want to understand, then well and if not, then here we end the contact.

And I repeat, we already gave the attribution to this wiki and it appears in any article of the community in Spanish.

      Bye.

    • We have given you credits and attribution to your community on our site with the custom rail (that appears on every article).

    • I have one person saying credit has been given and another saying that credit will not be given. Figure out which, until then please refrain from making any edits to this wiki.

    • This is the template that appears in all our articles and you do not have to threaten us with a ban on each message, we are trying to resolve this by talking. We have not vandalized your wiki and we do not found the wiki in Spanish, not all of us are to blame for the fact that most of the content is copied from here.

        Loading editor
    • I just searched through 3 of the Spanish articles and there was no contribution to us.

        Loading editor
    • Yes there is, the template appears in the right column of the site in every page.

        Loading editor
    • I see it now. My apologies. Next time, please be polite and ask permission. Feel free to use any of our content.

        Loading editor
    • Don't worry, there is no resentments. Most of the current content was copied before we started to edit on the wiki (another user made those pages), which is why I found it a little rude.

    • Hello!

What users are wanting to do are interwiki. Interwiki are attributions of another language. You are using the word "plagiarism" badly, because plagiarism is a term for those who sell it and it improves it and re-sells it. The wiki is not being plagiarized, so I see, if not, translated and giving credits. With the interwiki, give credits.

Another thing, I have seen that it is protecting the articles to avoid the interwiki, something that is giving misuse. The protection of articles, are to avoid vandalism, not because you feel like it.

If you follow this way, everyone present, will quote the Staff. Because you threaten to block by attribution in a legal way. it Is rather disorienting. regards.

    • First of all, this matter has already been resolved. No need to continue any conversation.

Second of all. Plagiarism is unauthorized use of material without giving credit. My use of the word was precise.

Third, stretching a link associating this wiki with an inferior wiki (that I believed to be in violation with creative commons license rules), is a form of vandalism.

Imagine if people had spent thousands of hours building the Spanish wiki just for someone to link articled to another wiki in Russian that only had descriptions like "a gun used in syphon filter" or "a character in syphon filter". How would you feel?

Lastly, I'm not quite sure what you are trying to say with your last statement. But I make no threats, I will not hesitate to block any person that interferes with the growth and accuracy of this wiki. If you have a problem with that, you are welcome to leave.

        Loading editor
    • It seems perfect to me that it is clear. And you continue to misuse the use of "plagiarism".

With respect to your last paragraph, you have the right to make blockades, likewise, any blockage without justification is a reason for complaint. Think wisely. From here, I say goodbye. Greetings and if you have doubts, use the Special:Contact. Regards

    • From Merriam-Webster dictionary:

      "Definition of plagiarize

      plagiarized; plagiarizing transitive verb

to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one's own :use (another's production) without crediting the source."

I have already said that the Spanish wiki may use any of our content since I now see that we have been credited, if you continue to argue with me, I WILL, rescind this offer and block all of you from this wiki.
